This national upskilling initiative is part of the “Empléate” program led by the Costa Rican Ministry of Labour and Social Security. The “Empléate” program helps upskill and reskill young Costa Ricans who want to integrate into the labour market.
Nurturing talent for the tech industry
The initiative supports young people who want to develop their technical skills and launch a rewarding career in the sector. At Elev8, we offer intensive and well-rounded programs in cybersecurity, advanced technical support, cloud computing, and software development.
“In order to promote a truly digital economy, we have to train more people in technology – this is the only way to fill the 45 thousand available jobs in Costa Rica offered by companies in this sector. The program duration is 16 weeks and classes are delivered virtually from Monday to Friday (8 am – 5 pm).

How to apply?
Eligible candidates should comply with the following requirements:
- Be native or resident Costa Ricans who are currently unemployed.
- Be over 18 years old and hold a secondary school degree.
- Have an intermediate level of English (minimum B1).
- Have full availability to attend classes.
- Be enthusiastic and eager to gain new knowledge and experience.
- Previous knowledge in technology is a plus but not a requirement.

This program is part of Elev8’s continuous efforts to strengthen the economic development in Costa Rica through essential technical education aligned with the needs of the industry.
We’ve previously collaborated with Amazon Web Services to launch the AWS re/start program that was focused on preparing unemployed and underemployed individuals for cloud careers through classroom-based training. Participants in the first AWS re/start cohort are now employed by leading companies in Costa Rica.
