Launching Tech Careers with AWS

cloud computing

We have joined forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Costa Rican Competitiveness Council, and the Costa Rican Government to launch the AWS re/Start program that helps Costa Ricans launch a rewarding career in technology.

About the program

Elev8 has been selected by AWS as a key partner to deliver their re/Start program in Costa Rica. The initiative is a free, full-time, classroom-based skills development and training program that prepares individuals for careers in cloud computing and connects them to potential employers. By upskilling and reskilling unemployed and underemployed people, we help them transform their lives while building a pipeline of entry-level tech talent.

The program duration is 12 weeks and it’s designed to equip participants with essential technical and soft skills. From hands-on technical training in cloud computing to professional skills including effective communication, collaboration, resume writing, and interview coaching.

Elev8 monitors students’ progress and helps them every step of the way to (re) start their professional lives. When participants complete the program, we support them in launching their tech careers by connecting them with leading technology employers and recruiters.

The results

AWS re/Start is a life-changing experience that connects people to rewarding cloud careers. 80% of the first cohort of graduates in Costa Rica found a job within less than two months and 50 new students have recently joined the program.

Moreover, the program nurtures a steady pipeline of top technology talent to fill the digital skill gaps, align with the industry’s needs and strengthen the Costa Rican economy.

Elev8 is also reskilling and upskilling young Costa Ricans through its participation in the “Empléate” program led by the Costa Rican Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
